i suppose i would be lying to say i like war, enjoy guns...etc. in fact i consider myself a lover, not a fighter. that said, i still have a deep respect for the individuals that fought for the freedom in our country. without this, life as we know it, just wouldn't be the same.....especially the liberal blog life...this wouldn't happen, so: it seemed appropriate to pause and remember. haden, lanni & i took part in a moments silence in chinook centre and then the next day we randomly dropped in to the military museum. cool.....at first, then sheldon & i realized the mouldy, hot air was making us extremely tired...and we were still hitting up the bolero with friends later, so wanting to still be AWAKE. we cut the history lesson short.

i didn't get photos of some really great people we met up with...but you all know who you are and thanks for being the friends that are always the same whether we seen you yesterday or 5 years ago. cheers!

sheldon did a job in calgary for a friend and asked if i wanted to come along and shop...well gee, let me think about that one. i didn't even spend more than we made. pat pat. we had a fun relaxing time, catching up with old friends, meeting new ones and just spending time in a super fun city (fun during the week anyway....the weekend got a little crazy). hit some way good deals, had a super cool mom gave me a coupon slyly....so i got my skirt cheaper) had anne louise jewlers ruin my ring...jerks......and somewhere along the way, got lanni hooked on sushi. wahoo he is officially eating veggies)

took us a wee little trip to our favorite, relaxing, "zen" place. where the energy is so fresh and new, and clean and perfect.....and and and. you take a breath in and are inspired to be ALL that you can be, simply a place, close to home.....where we truly feel so complete when we leave.

we got to sneak away for a pre-weekend get away to the spa. we enjoyed the smoothie bar down the street, gourmet food ordered late at night...yum and of course the mineral pool. note to self: don't eat jalapenos, baby will be up all night....ooops, good thing i was so relaxed from the spa, i just said oh, poor child, let me rub your tummy....RIIgggghht! the first 10 times, then i got grumpy. and the absolute BEST was the scones and meat pies at the tea house in mortlach. DELISC!! the lemon curd is fantastic.

we decided to go on yet another road trip to calgary, the last one for 2008. the roads were YUCK but our handy, dandy amazing suburu impreza, took us safely through as we passed on the fat side of 30 cars, 4x4 trucks & semi's in the ditch-O!!! we had a few priorities to take care of, mainly visiting the fine men & women @ thecamerastore .

then we ran into more bad roads and luckily we had planned on stopping to visit friends in medicine hat that offered up a warm bed. merci, mon amie!

then new years we did fondue.....cheese, oil & chocolate...YUM!!!
